My Priorities
The best days are still ahead for Virginia.
Here's how we'll get there together.
Main Street Prosperity
Main street prosperity is vital for fostering vibrant local economies. Small businesses create jobs, circulate money within the community, and give young people a reason to stay or move back to the Piedmont. A thriving main street also enhances our quality of life, attracting visitors and investment while preserving the unique character of our communities.
As the Chairman of a local economic development group, I led our efforts to keep old town businesses open during the Pandemic, raising tens of thousands of dollars for main street shops and restaurants.
As your Delegate, I will submit legislation to give first-time entrepreneurs under 40 a $5,000 tax credit to skip the career track and build a small business.
Helping First-time Homebuyers
Nearly 1 in 5 people expect to rent for the rest of their lives. Every year, people slip further and further from home ownership - and I believe no hardworking Virginian should be priced out of the American Dream. We have to do better, and our small towns depend on young people choosing to move back and invest in our communities.
As your Delegate, I will submit legislation to provide first-time homebuyers with a $10,000 tax credit to purchase a home in a rural area so they can stay and invest in our small towns.
Farmland Preservation
Farmland preservation is crucial: maintaining a stable and productive agricultural base ensures the Piedmont's food and economic security. Preserving farmland helps protect natural ecosystems, conserve biodiversity, and mitigate the environmental impact of urban sprawl. Plus, preserving farmland supports local economies and rural communities, providing jobs and sustaining traditional farming practices.
As a Senior Advisor at the US Department of Agriculture, I led our efforts to ensure prime farmland was protected from development.
As your Delegate, I'll protect Piedmont and Virginia farmland from data center development and expand conservation easements.
Funding Mental Healthcare Programs
We have a growing need for accessible and affordable services, as rising mental health issues overwhelm healthcare systems. Comprehensive policy reform is urgently needed to safeguard mental well-being. We have to take care of one another in Virginia and face this challenge together.
As a member of the Loudoun Medical Reserve Corps during the pandemic, I helped take care of Virginians when we most needed to support our neighbors.
As your Delegate, I'll increase funding and access to mental healthcare in our schools and hospitals.
Clean, Sustainable Energy
Clean energy production is vital for protecting the environment around the world and public health right here at home. By transitioning to renewable sources like wind, solar, and hydroelectric power, we will decrease our reliance on fossil fuels, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create sustainable jobs for the next generation.
As a Senior Advisor at The White House, I cut red tape to help build billions in new renewable projects across the country.
As your Delegate, I'll cut red tape in Richmond to ensure Virginia remains a leader in renewable energy development.
Protecting Reproductive & Human Rights
Ongoing overreach by the Federal Government to suppress reproductive rights threatens women’s access to appropriate healthcare options, even in situations like high-risk pregnancies. Any Government intrusion that unnecessarily regulates the patient-physician relationship and healthcare decision-making endangers a patient’s right to evidence-based care and safety.
No Virginian should have Washington in the doctor's office with them - and every Virginian deserves the right to live authentically without fear of discrimination or prejudice.
As your Delegate, I'll vote to enshrine reproductive rights in the Virginia Constitution in 2026 and pass legislation to protect the health and dignity of all Virginians.
Reigning in Corruption to Lower Your Bills
No state has fewer campaign finance regulations than Virginia. This allows companies to fund campaigns and pressure elected officials to put profits over the public good. When utility companies like Dominion and Appalachian Power exert influence in Richmond, your energy bills go up.
As your Delegate, I'll work to regulate utility monopolies to lower our energy bills.
Reducing The Cost of Education
Costs for high school and college have ballooned in the past decades, leading to the dream of higher education becoming harder and harder to grasp. We have to do everything we can to reduce costs, minimize student debt, and give parents more power in determining the future of their families.
As Chief of Staff to Delegate David Reid, we froze college tuition for three years, putting dollars back in the pockets of parents in Virginia.
As your Delegate, I'll work to reinstate the tuition freeze to bring down the cost of a great Virginia education.
Protecting Virginia's Workers
I will work to defend Virginia’s prevailing wage law, strengthen collective bargaining for public employees, and be a voice for hotel workers, care workers, and grocery workers. I will also proudly work with Building Trades unions to grow registered apprenticeship programs that allow workers to earn while they learn and prepare workers for jobs in the clean energy industry.
As your Delegate, I will never waver in supporting workers.
