Oak Hill is a Missed Economic Opportunity

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – Today, John McAuliff, Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 30th House District, released the following statement on Del. Geary Higgins’ failure to establish Oak Hill State Park during today’s veto session.

“Del. Higgins’ failure to build a bipartisan coalition shows his inability to legislate effectively and persuade his own colleagues of the importance of creating Oak Hill State Park - a powerful economic development and historic preservation opportunity in Loudoun County,” said John McAuliff. “My ancestor Captain John Chilton fought alongside President Monroe in Virginia’s 3rd regiment during the Revolution, and I believe in preserving our shared history. In Richmond, I will make the preservation of Oak Hill a priority, and will work across the aisle to see it passed.”
